The rest of the spouses in our class are organizing a bake sale to help with graduation costs. In total, for the biggest family in our class, every graduation event added together will cost about $100. I think that a lot of these families are also having to shell out the $400 for the mess dress at the same time since they everyone except MH and one other Capt. commissioned right before coming here.
But I think the bake sale is tacky. There is a graduation at this base every 3 weeks. If every class held a bake sale to offset their personal "costs" it would be insane. Also, there are a few wives/families in general who are just way too "oh pity me/us - we're so pooooooor!" Learn to budget better instead of asking other people to pay for family events.
I want to not participate, but I feel like that's rude.

Today was one of those days where I feel completely under-appreciated by the patients I work with. I'm tired of being yelled at because my Dr is on vacation and you can't get your shit together and that's my fault somehow. I'm limited in what I can do without a Dr in the office. Most days I enjoy my job, but today it sucked big time.

I am not a general fan of Military Spouse blogs, unless I know the person. They seem overly AWish to me. Ugh. I don't really identify with the "lifestyle" either though.

Mel, that bugged me too. But we ended up not doing anything, because our flight really had no wives club. We spent something like 400 on his graduation, because his WHOLE ENTIRE FAMILY had to come. It felt rude asking them to contribute to the cost of the fancy meal when they flew in.

I have two.
1. I feel like a bad friend. I just ignored a text from my BFF because I know its going to involve a phone call and a 30 minute conversation about should she be mad at her BF because of yada yada yada, or asking about BC, or some other conversation I'm not in the mood for. I'm sorry I'm 25, I don't want to be having conversations that 15 year olds have ( not the BC one obviously). She is also 25 and this is her first BF and I'm happy for her but I lack the energy to be dealing with all of this. I get at least 2 texts and 2 phone calls a WEEK about 15 year old boyfriend/girlfriend drama.
2. I told the doctor I work for today that I'm getting really frustrated with coworker. I love the woman to pieces but she is being a pain in the ass lately. We have girl that works part time. D keeps getting pissed when A isn't doing something productive but she hasn't been taught much and D doesn't want her to learn anything else. Dr. told me I'm in charge of A and can train her in what Dr. and I agree on and she will talk to D. She also told me I need to stand my ground with D more than what I do. That said A did so great today. She did a lot of new things and did a really good job at them. (D wasn't in today).

If you want something done right do it yourself...yep totally regretting not thinking of that when I had HR send my clearances in. I gave them my paperwork April 23. They are still missing my child abuse clearance. The agency's website says they return investigations within 14 days. HR says it's still missing from my paperwork and it's supposed to come to my house. I haven't received it. I'm freaking out because, if I don't get selected again, I REALLY need this job for the experience in my field. I shouldn't have to be stressed about this.

Did you go through a Realtor or on your own. I would also call an HVAC person to inspect the heater and AC independently from the home inspector. I've seen it happen all to often where an inspector passes the unit but there is an issue later and the repair person says the unit never should have passed an inspection.

I'm tired of whinny people. I can't take the madness any more. One gf is bitching about only hearing from her guy every other day when she got to talk to him every day during last deployment. I finally told her to suck it up because there are a lot of girls who only get to talk to their guy once a week. Another friend complains about everything. She's also in her late 20's and can not make a decision on her own. I'm constantly having to explain things to her that a grown woman should know. I have enough shit going on. Dealing with everyone else is bull is getting to be too much.

Also, MH sent me 2 ACU scrub tops from Afghanistan. As much as I know he would want me to wear them at work IDK if I should. I mean, civilian contractors wear them but, I'm sure some people put them on the same level as wearing a uniform you don't rate. Ugh...

Most days I enjoy my job, but today it sucked big time. what do you do for work? I'm a medical assistant. I room patients, get vitals, answers phones, do meds. But the Dr I work for is out of town for 2 weeks. I have another Dr covering for him for ASAP stuff, but people are pissed the Dr is gone and they can't see him or get their usual refills. (The Dr covering is doing refills for 2 wks just to cover til my Dr is back, but that's not enough apparently.) I usually care less what people think, but my hands are slightly tied with my Dr gone. And he's still got 1 more week out. I hate being yelled at by angry people. I usually like working with the older generation of people (like my grandparents age) but sometimes they are so set in their ways, nothing else will do but what they want. It was just mentally exhausting day.

We went through a Realtor, that's the only reason I know that I even need a lawyer. That's a good idea about the HVAC person to part of the inspection, the house already has central air and gas baseboard heat. My Realtor is super helpful, I just feel like not matter how much research I do on buying a home (and I've read books, articles, etc) at this point it varies so much state to state that I feel like an ass.
